The Elements of Water. October 7, 2010 – November 8, 2010

Opening Reception: Thursday, October 14, 2010 – 6:00-9:00pm

The Artist Reception for “The Elements of Water” is October 14, from 6-9pm. And, best of all this coincides with October’s City of Keller Gallery Walk.

The Elements of Water exhibit features the gorgeous oil paintings of Dana Blanchard. Her new works ranging from abstract to representational explore the nature of water: its force or tranquility; its form and/or color.  Some works explore how it affects the reflections of light, or the distortion of shapes reflected in it.  Others explore its use in compositions: to create a unity or to create unexpected contrasts in composition.
2010, Show 1 - Postcard front final
Dana Blanchard’s oil paintings are remembrances of passing moments composed to renew the awe of a lasting impression. Her paintings have a powerful first presence, yet encourage intimacy and contemplation.  Through the interplay of dynamic forms and subtly complex color and surface, her works are both commanding and compelling.
Dana’s career as an artist began on the East Coast, with gallery representation in New York. Fortunately, she now resides in Flower Mound, TX. She has a growing base of collectors and is one of art251’s signature artists.
Keller Gallery Walk is free and centers around Keller Town Hall and Arthouse. It is organized by The City of Keller Public Arts Program, in conjunction with Arthouse, art251, Art Party Boutique and Gallery, Monart School of Art, Young Artists of Texas (YAT), Main and Vine Art, and Artizans Alley.
Please come and join us at art251 and the six other participating art spaces to see some great new art, old (and new) friends, rich conversation, unique entertainment, and of course, food and refreshments.
The Keller Gallery Walk continues monthly on the Second Thursday of each month from September 2010 through May 20.
