Bryan Wetz
Bio
Bryan began his career in 1998 working for Oklahoma Fixture Company, one of North America’s largest retail design and manufacturers, and its subsidiary, Recherche. He spent approximately 5 years designing furniture, fixtures and interiors for the company. During this time he had the opportunity to travel the United States and learn the furniture industry, while his desires to design and create continued to expand.
Bryan relocated to Dallas, Texas in 2002 following his extensive work with Recherche. He worked locally for two years concentrating his efforts on designing furniture and millwork for residential clients while pursuing his love for art through commission portraits and original paintings. This effort allowed more hands on experience in building his designs through a local furniture team.
In 2003 Bryan continued his design career by joining the team at Pier 1 Imports. There he focused on designing furniture and accessories. Pier 1 Imports’ international efforts gave Bryan the fortunate experience of traveling overseas for work. His travels gave rise to a new appreciation for the world and helped further develop his style and passion for design. This also gave great insight into high volume design and worldwide consumer desires.
In the summer of 2005 Bryan consolidated his multitude of talents with the launch of Studio Wetz, LLC, a collaboration of custom furniture design, interior design, architectural renderings, original paintings, and portraiture.
Bryan is a product of the Oklahoma Arts Institute at Quartz Mountain and an alumni of Oklahoma State University where he earned a degree in Interior Design.
Work
Bryan Wetz is a creative and skillful artist. His canvas works cover a range of subjects, however he focuses mainly on portraits, floral works, still lifes and recently, a series of surrealistic works. His preferred media include acrylic on canvas, mixed media and pencil drawing.
