Drew Liedtke
“I became an artist as early as I could pick up a pencil and first realized it is what I wanted to do with my life when I was in the 1st grade. Creating is my means of therapy; an escape from reality.”
Bio
Drew Liedtke is a professional illustrator and graphic designer with a Fine Art degree from the University of North Texas. However, his painting and drawing is his passion. Drew’s mediums of choice are oils, acrylics, graphite, charcoal, and pastels.
Work
Drew is fascinated with contrasting light. How light forms lines and molds shapes is a focus throughout his work. Drew believes any subject matter can be translated beautifully without the need for an abundance of color. Hence, many of his works use limited color or even subtle grayscale.
While Drew’s intent is to keep his styles varied, he typically follows a more academic approach, especially with my figurative work.
Drew’s most recent work can be described as solemn, yet jovial at the same time, depending on how the viewer perceives it. His admiration for classical sculptors and painters can be seen throughout his paintings. He asks nothing from the viewer when they see his work; only that he or she tries to view it a bit deeper than its surface.
